The Virtual Festival of Geology is up and running! We now have the titles for our lectures and the speakers are experts in their fields. You may think you’re too young to find them interesting, but you may be surprised! The topics are fascinating – and if you aren’t interested your parents may be! We’ve got:
The Day the Dinosaurs Died by Professor Philip Manning, University of Manchester
Above and Beyond: Drones are changing the way we monitor volcanoes by Dr Emma Liu, University College London
The geology of the Thames Tideway Tunnel by Dr Tim Newman, Tideway London
UV-B radiation was the terrestrial killer at the Devonian-Carboniferous boundary by Professor John Marshall, University of Southampton
We haven’t got the timetable for the day yet but it’s certainly something to go in your diary! The Festival starts at 10.30 on Saturday 7 November – and we’ll have great hands-on activities in the Discovery Room. Come along – it’s all FREE and accessible from your sofa!
