We are very sad to report the death of Dr John Crocker on 22nd May 2020.
John had been the Rockwatch Treasurer and a greatly valued member of the Rockwatch Management Committee for many years.
Part of John’s Chemistry degree was a course in Geology which led to a lifelong fascination of the subject – mainly rocks and minerals. He loved to go out into the field and collect specimens and ‘read’ the landscape. The picture shows John looking at a mineral at the Natural History Museum in London where he was a volunteer.
He was a great supporter of the club and amongst other activities he was always to be seen helping visitors in the Discovery Room at the Annual Festival of Geology to make wonderful fossil replicas. Rockwatch will greatly miss John as a Rockwatch Friend and a wonderful colleague.
