  • Morning: Discover evidence of a 130-million-year time gap between the Carboniferous Limestone and the Triassic period at Ogmore-by-Sea. Explore Triassic lake deposits from when the Atlantic Ocean nearly formed 200 million years ago. We will then stand on 340 million year old Carboniferous sea floors and examine masses of fossils including many different types of corals that once lived there.
  • Afternoon: We will visit Jurassic beaches, explore the famous Blue Lias rock formations, similar to the rocks Mary Anning collected from, hopefully find the ghosts of large ammonites and see how the gigantic forces that formed the Alps or the Pyrenees affected what is now South Wales.
