The Hugh Miller Writing competition is named after one of Scotland’s most endearing geologists. He was one of Scotland’s greatest nature writers and the competition aims to honour Hugh Miller’s legacy by inspiring new, original prose and poetry on the theme of Scotland’s geoheritage. Young people under 25 are being encouraged to enter – so Rockwatcher’s, here you go! We all know how talented you are!
Entries should be inspired by one or more of the ’51 Best Places to see Scotland’s Geology’. And there’s a list to help you see what these are considered to be. Just go to www.scotishgeology.com/best-places and get you thinking caps on!
Details about entries and the rules are on the Scottish Geology website. The competition closes on 15 March 2020 so there’s lots of time.
Good Luck!
