International Geodiversity Day – 6th October 2022
Rockwatch is delighted to announce that it will be joining in with this year’s International Geodiversity Day on Thursday 6th October 2022.
The Day, which was announced at the UNESCO at the 41st General Conference in 2021, will be a worldwide celebration to promote all the many aspects of geodiversity.
Many events will be taking place around the world in person and online on the day. As part of the celebrations Rockwatch will be showcasing children and young people’s understanding of geodiversity. We hope that lots of Rockwatchers will get involved and embrace this very special #GeodiversityDay.
It’s easy to get involved by entering the Rockstars Young Geologists’ Competition. Write or create something that relates to geodiversity and tell us what you’ve learned and why it’s so important.
